Teen Doula - Full Birth Doula Course (Zoom option/fast-track)This class is for teens ages 14 and up to take this full birth doula course that will certify them as a doula! They get to be in class with other teens.
This class is for teens who want to become a fully certified birth doula. What is a birth doula? A birth doula helps mothers prepare for labor, help during her labor/birth time and usually one postpartum visit - all in a non-medical way. Doulas offer comfort methods to mothers. If you want more information about the birth doula class, you can look at this page as we cover most of what is listed on our doula page. Our course uses the book "The Comfort in Birth Method". This will be sent digitally to students. If they want print version, there is an extra fee of $19 to have that shipped to the student. If you want to choose that option let me know when enrolling and we will send link for book payment. Homework is less for teens than adults. Usually one or two assignments per module and a quiz in most modules. Discussion questions are done during the zoom class - so answering outside of class is optional. We will meet 7 times. There might be a break in the middle of the class. We will be meeting either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons. Teens will receive one free complimentary mentoring session of 30 -40 minutes with instructor if needed to help with finishing the class. We may make a teen workbook (ie: homework) booklet that will list all the homework needed for the class as time allows. (May be ready after class start date). Our plan is to start the first Wednesday after Labor day. Enrollment to save $$ - Regular teen price is $355 - we are offering $100 off till August 31st, 2023 - so cost is only $265 if pay in full.
