Syllabus outline below:
Module One: Introduction to Childbirth covers what you will need to certify, the history of childbirth, an overview of dance of teaching childbirth book, God's design and control (which is all about anatomy), and the Christian aspect to the course.
Module Two: Nutrition, Pregnancy and Informed Consent covers the importance of informed consent, nutrition and spirituality of pregnancy, and some topics from your books Dance of Teaching and New Active Birth.
Module One: Introduction to Christian Childbirth covers what you will need to certify, the history of childbirth, an overview of dance of teaching childbirth book, God's design and control (which is all about anatomy), and the catholic aspect to the course.
Module Two: Nutrition, Pregnancy and Informed Consent covers the importance of informed consent, nutrition and spirituality of pregnancy, and some topics from your books Dance of Teaching and New Active Birth. Including the Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy Book. (Optional reading for non-Catholics).
Module Three: Exercises and Labour Stages covers exercise in pregnancy, depression, pregnancy surprise, stages of labour, and the reading material needed for this unit.
Module Four: Pain, Labour, and More covers emotions of labour, Christian childbirth and pain, and information on herbs and pregnancy.
Module Five: Birth & Business covers the third trimester, breathing, the birth plans or wishes. Covers the aspects of locations for classes, and some information on the Catholic Mother's Companion again optional for non-Catholics to read).
Module Six: Comfort Measures covers water birth, epidurals, environment and labour, the doulas birth bag and continuing coverage of A Catholic Mother's Companion to pregnancy.
Module Seven: Medical Options for Labor covers things like natural and medical inductions, newborn care, and a catholic overview.
Module Eight: Labor Challenges covers C-section, waterbirth, prolonged labour and other challenges that might occur.
The class will be covered over Thinkific with videos and coursework.
