Mission Statement of Catholic Doula is to offer a spiritual, prayerful, and evidence based doula training in 3 areas: birth, postpartum and bereavement.
Magnificat Courses are also a subsidiary of Catholic Doula Program and are classes for anyone who wants information in childbirth education, fertility doula and upcoming Holistic Woman's Health course.
We also have Mommy Latch Breastfeeding course.

What is a doula?

A doula is a "servant" (doula means servant in Greek) and a professional who helps mother in the most important time of her life - pregnancy through birth and postpartum time! Our program trains doulas in a spiritual, prayerful way to help mothers from birth thru postpartum time. We also have a bereavement doula course.
We also have add-on Magnificat Courses: Fertlity doula and Childbirth Educator.

Jesus in Every Lesson and Mary!

The ability to learn so much more then doula instructions. Gifts of the Holy Ghost (Birth), Joys of Mary (Postpartum), Our Lady of Sorrows (bereavement) - Birth also has saints included too!
Non-denominational students are always free to skip saint sections or Marian doctrine. Thank you.

Small Class Sizes

Small classes give you the opportunity for more one-on-one communication with the trainer. Giving you ample time to spend with her, and ask any questions you might have.
Self-pace classroom
Live Zoom class will also have access to classroom and have less work assignments.

Meet Our Team

Julie Larsen

Owner of Catholic Doula Program

I have a Bachelor's of Consumer Sciences from Stephen F. Austin State University, and I went on to obtain a Master's of Library Sciences at Texas Woman's University. After graduating, I took some time to do more studies and got married. I finally took my doula training in 2010-2011 with Birth Arts International and HypnoBabies. I also studied with Madriella Network in 2014 and 2017. Attended a wide variety of births and did some postpartum work from 2011-2020. I am semi-retired from doing births and postpartum work. I now mostly full-time teach doulas and occasionally take virtual clients or in person clients as I have time.
I also have the following other credentials: HERBAL Peer Counselor around 2021, Fabulous Body Academy: Holistic Nutritional Coach 2022, Life Coach, Herbal Studies and more.
I am also author of a few books: Doing Business the Doula Way, Comfort in Birth Method, A Catholic Postpartum, and others.
