What are the Certification Requirements?
Finish 3 Pillars of Bereavement Care projects; Work with a bereaved family (at least one time)(if you can) or do a project teacher will assign; finish all the quizzes from each module; do 5-6 case studies from the class modules; make 5 handouts from assignments; do community project(make resource list). Discussion boards are also available and other assignments are considered extra credit. Thank you. What is my title when finished? And any extra info?
You are allowed to call yourself "Certified Sorrowful bereavement doula" or Certified Sorrowful doula. Yes, this class is a little more specific on spirituality and Christian based. So, if you are looking for something generic - this is not the class for you. You may work with any client or mama with this course - you can work with any religion. We do think that anyone who has had an abortion should be treated with respect and have a chance to follow bereavement - so in that aspect we will honor this mother in her sorrow. However, we will not allow our doulas to attend or take part of an abortion procedure. Thank you. We may add in a module or separate training on helping post-abortive mothers like above more in future. Thank you. |

Seven Sorrows and Bereavement workIn each of our modules, we meditate on one sorrow of Our Lady and tie it into bereavement doula work. In my PDF Booklet "Hope Through Sorrow" you will read more about how to accomplish this. The booklet can be printed up to send you or you may choose digital file option. The printed option costs a little more when enrolling. Thank you!
