Catholic Doula Blog by Julie Larsen or guest writers Welcome readers new and old: We are going to be planning out our blog soon and will have a theme a month - like next month we will have the Bereavement Theme since October 15th is Miscarriage Rememberance day. Also, October ends with All Hallows Eve or the Eve of All Saints - so we will have a saintly focus as well towards the end of the month. November's theme can reflect Thanksgiving and All Souls praying for the souls in Purgatory. December of course will be focused on Advent and Christmas season for instance. As far as "class themes" go - we will be focusing on our postpartum doula zoom class starting in October - so we will have an early bird special. October we will also have a special for the Miscarriage month on our Bereavement Miscarriage loss class. In November, we are planning a focus more on birth doula and a possible shorter weekend training for birth doulas - or maybe an in person training - to be announced! December we will have my annual birthday sale and offer discounts on courses for my birthday (December 1st). (This will probably start early near Black Friday and end Dec. 1st.) We have decided to do some changes soon on course pricing - but we think we will wait till beginning of the year. I want to offer something easier for lower income mothers - so I am thinking of a course restructioning - like a certificate of completion class (not a certification) for curious mothers or women who want to learn about doula work but do not feel the need to be certified (like they only want to help family members or friends in birth work.) The materials and information will be much the same but requirements will be different. We will still offer a certifiacation courses as well, but this way we can offer something lower priced and if the student decides they want to add on certification later - it will just be one price extra and simple steps to finish. We also will be editing our Spirituality of doula course and offering this course again for women who are doulas already somewhere else and want to add in a spiritual component for supporting mothers. So, we hope these ideas will help bring in students who would not have signed up - decide to join a course for "I want to learn" but not "support outside my family" for now. The certificate of completion student can still add in certification later if so desired. I am excited to offer this and I want to support women who want to learn about doula work. Ok all for now, God Bless, Julie Please subscribe to our newsletter message [email protected] to get started. Look for messages from [email protected] - Thank you.Comments are closed.
